Vancouver is trying to widen its two-point lead on Eastern Conference-leading Philadelphia, as both teams vie for their first Presidents’ Trophy. The Canucks are seven points in front of Detroit for first place in the West. Despite the loss to the Ducks, Vancouver is the best home team in the NHL at 19-4-5. However, the Canucks are 4-1-3 in their last eight there, including a 4-3 shootout loss to Calgary on Jan. 22. Calgary is on an 8-0-2 run, but also trying to rebound from a loss to the Ducks after falling 5-4 in overtime Friday. Glencross has been hot of late, scoring a goal in three consecutive games while totaling six and adding three assists over the last nine. He committed a costly penalty Friday, however, getting whistled for hooking before Anaheim scored on the power play to force overtime. Miikka Kiprusoff will likely be back in net after allowing five goals on 30 shots against the Ducks. He had 41 saves through overtime at Vancouver on Jan. 22, but is 4-9-1 with a 4.33 GAA over his last 14 games there. Daniel and Henrik Sedin have combined for nine goals and 13 assists in their last seven meetings with the Flames.
