Helton may get a chance to help Colorado’s lineup try to build some momentum. Manager Jim Tracy said the five-time All-Star first baseman may be activated from the disabled list Tuesday. But there’s still a chance that Helton, out since July 5 with a stiff back, may end up on a rehabilitation assignment before returning. Helton is the Rockies’ all-time leader in hits and home runs, but he’s having the worst season of his career. In 69 games, he is hitting .246 with two homers and 16 RBIs. With Jeff Francis set to take the mound for the Rockies, they may need Helton and their lineup to have a big game. Francis is 0-1 with a 12.00 ERA over his last three starts. The left-hander gave up three runs and eight hits in five innings of a 9-7 loss to San Diego in his last outing July 11. Francis is 1-0 with a 2.25 ERA in two career starts versus the Marlins. He’ll be facing a Florida lineup coming off a productive game after scoring five runs over its previous four contests, and could be even more dangerous now that Chris Coghlan’s stiff back is better. Coghlan, who has missed consecutive games, could be back in the lineup Tuesday. The left fielder, last season’s NL rookie of the year, is in a 3-for-32 skid.
